VEST PROGRAM

Centerville PD Vest Photo.JPG

Operation “Protect Our Protectors” program is designed to donate ballistic vests to Law Enforcement agencies within the State of Georgia, specifically to those agencies that cannot afford to purchase the  vests.  Officer Safety is a very important issue and the bulletproof vest has been proven to save lives and reduce injuries.  Since we have started the program we have donated over 1,026 vests to 176 agencies throughout Georgia.  In order for an agency to be considered for the program, the Chief or head of the agency needs to send a  letter on their letterhead to the Georgia Fraternal Order of Police requesting to be considered.  There is a limit of 10 vests per agency.  Any agency that would like to be included in the program should contact us at Georgia State FOP Lodge, PO Box 88, Powder Springs, Ga. 30127.  Office # 770-485-7180

Ensuring law enforcement can do their jobs safely is a top priority for the Fraternal Order of Police, and earlier, they had the chance to fulfill that vow by assisting the Centerville Police Department. On November 30, 2022 the FOP donated 10 ballistic vests and 20 tourniquets to the department as part of "Operation Protect the Protector,” an initiative designed to assist smaller agencies that may have smaller budgets. President Mike Zimmerman and State Vest Committee Member Guy Fussell, on behalf of the FOP’s Houston County Lodge #98, presented the equipment to Centerville Chief of Police Cedric Duncan Wednesday morning.
